Lori Wenger - Financial Bookkeeper

Hello, I'm Lori and I'm the Financial Bookkeeper at Palmyra Brethren In Christ Church.  My primary responsibilities are handling the day-to-day financial duties of the church and helping the Treasurer as needed.

BASIC STUFF:
My husband Mike and I have been married for since 1995.  We met on a blind date and then started a domino effect by setting up two friends on a blind date.  They got married and set two friends up on a blind date and they got married, etc.  We have two children:  Kayla who is 11 and Jonathan who is 8.  Besides working part-time here at Palmyra BIC, I also work part-time as bookkeeper and secretary for my husband's kitchen and bath business.

BIRTH DATE:
April 7, 1969

EDUCATION:
Graduated from Manheim Central Senior High School

INTERESTS AND FAVORITES:

Places: I generally like any place that has warm temperatures!  I particularly love Bermuda and the Caribbean.
Music: Fee, Britt Nicole, Meredith Andrews, Tobymac, Matthew West, general praise and worship music, Carrie Underwood and 80's music.
Books: I love to read!  I read many different types of books but I particularly like Christian Fiction.  My favorites are Beverly Lewis, Karen Kingsbury, Cindy Woodsmall, Dee Henderson, Frank Peretti, Tim LaHaye & Jerry Jenkins.
TV: Dancing With The Stars, American Idol, Survivor, Undercover Boss, and PBS BBC shows.
Sport Teams: Nascar (Go Jeff Gordon!), Pittsburgh Steelers (Go Steelers!), Baltimore Orioles, and Hershey Bears.
Movies: Just about any chick flick - While You Were Sleeping, Sleepless in Seattle, Dirty Dancing, Father of the Bride, The Blind side, The Notebook.  My favorite Christmas movie is White Christmas.  I also love comedies, especially older ones with Bob Hope, Lucille Ball, Doris Day, and Jerry Lewis.
Hobbies: I love to read, watch sports, ride bike, and walk.
Dislikes: Cold weather.  Being late.  Making the same dinner over and over again.  I am constantly making new recipes.
Odd Fact: I started working in my dad's wholesale car business at the age of 11.  My favorite things to do there were taking the cars apart (seats, carpet, step plates, headlights, anything that was screwed down) and taking the upholstery off the seats by twisting the hog rings off.

LIFE SCRIPTURE:
A verse that has really helped me a lot, especially in the past two years is:  Philippians 4:13 NLT  -  "For I can do everything with the help of Christ who gives me the strength I need."
