Palmyra Brethren in Christ Church

Hi, I am Steve Mann and I'm the Director of Youth Ministries here at PBIC.

BASIC STUFF:

I was born and raised in the great state of New Hampshire, non-debatably the best state in the union.  Much to the dismay of my mother, the Mann family is populated entirely with sons.  I have an older brother, David, who lives in Allentown, Josh,who lives in Scranton, and a younger brother, Patrick.  I graduated from LVC in 2011, which is the reason for my relocation to Pennsylvania.  I grew up going to church, but hadn’t given in to Jesus until college.  He is my Lord, and my Savior.  I try to live every day with his grace surrounding me.  Ministry is something God has called me to, and I am incredibly thankful to have such a sincere church family to share in that ministry.  Following Jesus is a decision that has reshaped, and continues to reshape my life.  I get excited at the chance to share in this refining process with the youth of this town.  We have a great youth group; they are honest searchers and true followers.  If you want to know more about why I am here in Palmyra, PA instead of basking in the glory of the pride of New England (Portsmouth, NH) just come talk to me.  I'd love to share more of my story.

Places: New Hampshire

Music: Needtobreathe, State Radio, Josh Garrels, The Head and the Heart, Lecrae, Tenth Avenue North, John Mark McMillan, Gungor, Trampled by Turtles, The Gap Band, Sam Cooke, Dispatch, Cat Stevens, James Taylor, Jim Croce, Ethan Olney, Zach Williams, the list goes on and on

Books: Mere Christianity, The Great Divorce, pretty much anything by C. S. Lewis
TV: Yes, I know what a television is, easy question.  Moving on.
Sport Teams: Boston Celtics, Boston Red Sox, Penn State anything.
Movies: Never been in a movie.  Movies I like include Brink, Extreme Days, The Mighty Ducks Trilogy, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings
Hobbies: Snowboarding, pond hockey, reading, cards, baking, knitting sweaters, painting landscapes exclusively of light houses...the last three aren't legitimate hobbies of mine.
Odd Fact: My parent's names are Marcus and Lauretta.  Your job is to guess which name belongs to my mother and which belongs to my father.

LIFE SCRIPTURE:

Philippians 3:12-14 Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me.  Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it.  But one thing I do:  Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
